Migrant's Wanderings: November 2013
http://migrantswanderings.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Friday, 15 November 2013. Question: If you had the resources, would you attempt one HUGE project? I enjoy looking at other peoples' super-projects though, like the Scale Model World showstopping Steam-Punk Bugatti. Superbly conceived and built by Stefano Marchetti. The humbling reality is that even if I had a decade. To spend on such a model, I'd never be able to achieve anything like this. (Photos by Darrell Thompson, used with permission). Yet Another Plastic Modeller. Tuesday, 5 November 2013.

Migrant's Wanderings: June 2012
http://migrantswanderings.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, 24 June 2012. Euro 2012 Part two. Work continues on the Revell 1/32 Eurofrighter. For a modern-tool kit released in the last 4 years it's a shockingly poor fit. The wing-root on top; it's even worse on the underside. The wing root trailing edge – not just a gap but a step as well. Lots of filling and sanding required to achieve a smooth tail transition. Besides the sloppy fit there are numerous sink marks all over the airframe, the slats and airbrake seem to be the worst affected:.

Migrant's Wanderings: Eduard 1/72 Bf110E
http://migrantswanderings.blogspot.com/2014/05/eduard-172-bf110e.html
Sunday, 18 May 2014. Another couple of months have gone by without a post, but then again I haven't been at the bench much so not a lot to report. A full build article of the 1/72 Eduard Bf110E that I built a few months back has just been published in the June 2014 issue of Tamiya Model Magazine,. And currently on the bench is the old (albeit in a new box) Airfix 1/144 Boeing 737. 21 May 2014 at 11:27. Brilliant - not a magazine I buy, but will pick it up just to drool over your fabulous images!

Migrant's Wanderings: Fallacious Ford
http://migrantswanderings.blogspot.com/2014/05/ford-interceptor.html
Friday, 23 May 2014. Not quite a new build, this AMT 1/25 '32 Ford had been sitting unloved for years in my stash, until a Group Build on the Unofficial Airfix Modellers' Forum. 24 May 2014 at 15:14. I love the concept and the thinking outside the square. Cockpit is excellent and the guns out the grill very cool. with some drivers on the road today id like that in my car now. 25 May 2014 at 08:17. 26 May 2014 at 02:43. Oh yes you will love the quality of that one. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Migrant's Wanderings: December 2013
http://migrantswanderings.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 10 December 2013. The Sprue Cutters Union. Requests: Show us your Workbench. The main work area is a simple IKEA table flanked by a couple of storage cabinets. Since this photo was taken I've added a third angle poise lamp. The small set of drawers in the right corner of the table contains paints and spare parts, and was a gift from my parents in 1973! The kit on the bench is the MPM Gloster Meteor, long since finished. How other Unionists work:. Labels: Sprue Cutters Union. Much of anything, le...

Migrant's Wanderings: October 2013
http://migrantswanderings.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Friday, 18 October 2013. The Sprue Cutters' Union wants to know how I prepare for my next build. Assuming I haven't totally lost interest in the project by the time it arrives, I'll start to do some more research. Again, the internet is my first resource, and I'm mainly looking for Walkround images and photos of the real thing. Jim Watts. Here's how other Unionists prepare:-. Sven Harjacek Scale Models. Migrant's Wanderings: World Peace, and an Airfix Hurricane.
http://migrantswanderings.blogspot.com/2013/12/world-peace-and-airfix-hurricane.html
Thursday, 5 December 2013. World Peace, and an Airfix Hurricane. Question: What are four items on your wishlist? Since the answer to that can change daily, I'd better carpe diem. And write something down now. As tempted as I am to wish for 'more time to model' or 'better canopy masking skills', I'll try and respond in the spirit in which the question was posed. Truth is, I really don't need. 1 Airfix Hurricane Mk. I 1/72. 2 Pit Road Vickers Crossley armoured car 1/35. 3 Paint storage racks. I've loved th...

Migrant's Wanderings: July 2014
http://migrantswanderings.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 29 July 2014. There are some aspects of this hobby that I really. Dislike. Masking canopies is one of them, and so is making seat harnesses. My most intense loathing though is reserved for photo-etch. It can't be sanded, paint won't stick to it, it bends at the slightest touch and the tiniest parts launch themselves into oblivion. So it was with some trepidation that I accepted a request from the editor of Airfix Model World. Saturday, 19 July 2014. The earliest dating back to the September 2013...
