I nearly made it but ended up spending the night at a motel/truck stop about 150km short. It’s a shame as the hotel at the turn off looked quiet nice. The cafe and hotel. The truck parking next door. About 5km after you turn off the main trans Siberian highway the tarmac ends, and pretty much the road works start! The hotel in the heart of downtown Tynda.

The next stop in Costa Rica was Arenal, a small town situated at the base of an active volcano, the town maybe small but it’s a major tourist attraction, and there were a lot of coaches coming in for the day for the two main attractions of the volcano visitors centre and the waterfall.
