This was a ground-up identity project for a specialty empanada company in Austin, Texas. I wanted to create a recognizable look that would inspire brand-evangelism and devotion in the customer base. The food monsters personify each flavor and add an unexpected amount of fun, setting Mmmpanadas apart in a marketplace full of artisan handmade organic specialty food. A 2015 redesign has pushed the brand even further toward freezer cases and retail.

New fast-casual Southlake concept Bolo had an amazing menu and a great idea. They needed to get that translated into a visual identity system to help differentiate them in a crowded market. Using a simplified palette, distinct typography and whimsical illustrations, we created an instantly iconic look that sets Bolo apart from competitors.
