Every now an then I'll size a ring, hammer it up to size, the customer will take it home only to have it break. This has happened about 3 times in 20 years. I've also went in to solder a silver and/or gold ring only to discover part of it is pewter, plastic, or god knows what. I've had one piece actually catch fire. Here, I'm usi...

The pins above and below are based upon and drawn from cycladic. I usually have them in small and large sizes, nickel silver, copper, or brass. Even though the posted picture might be a pin or a pendant, I can make them either way, just let me know. Shipping and a small cloth gift bag is included in the price. I'm still working on my photo skills, they all look better in real life. This is a page of the original(I think) small drawings I pasted onto a sheet of paper. I had it scanned in and thought i...

http://www.miketayse-jewelry.com/2012/09/french-champagne.html
Monday, June 3, 2013. This stamp is from France, and some of the stamps have cancellations, I use both, so they might have had to work for a living. Who knows what it did? A letter to a friend or loved one, or did it pay a bill, I always wonder. I certainly wasn't there, and it's probably one of those make believe moments, but what a great thing to say! I usually use fillister head slotted screws and blue plastic as pictured here. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Giro and Italian Bike Stamp Pins.

Mike Tayse-Jewelry: etching service
http://www.miketayse-jewelry.com/p/etching-service.html
I do photo etching. I take other peoples' drawings and my own and convert them into small metal pins, pendants, plaques, or whatever. Being an art teacher, I've taken quite a few student drawings and made them/photo-etched them into various objects. The drawing above was done by my niece Rachel when she was in junior hi that is a little over 12 inches tall. This is a close up of the pin I made from Rachel's drawing. Nice, wearable, pin. Here I reversed the image and etched the back ground to give it a li...

Tuesday, June 26, 2012. Below is a stamp pin intended to celebrate and commemorate the Tour De France. I've been watching this for years on TV, it's always good. I bought Tour De France hats and water bottles for family members and many times my sister and her children would come up for the 4th of July and we would all watch the Tour, it was great fun! Mike Tayse-Jewelry Class
ME and Baby 'Lil. This is a shot of me and a student soldering. I remember she was pretty anxious about the flame and all. I try to hover and be available and offer as much assistance as is seemingly needed. Ultimately, if all goes well, as an instructor, I"ll make my self obsolete! Another colorized picture of me demonstrating how to file something. Most likely a ring blank, judging by the use of the wooden blocks in the vise. I got it. A pin whose subject matter is Maria Montessori? You can use your mo...

Chronicling the adventures of Mr. Tayse-art teacher. May 14, 2015. Well… it really wasn’t meant to be a shoe project but more a project to explain fashion and industrial design. But a lot of students’ chose shoes. Notice the pensive, thoughtful look on their faces, nothing could be farther from the truth. The work in action! Justin’s first sketch. Harrison did a great shoe inspired by……. I’m not sure what inspired the sketch of the Obama shoe, but it looks nice. April 29, 2015. Mystery person in mask.
