Tuesday, June 2, 2009. Katy Connects on the Bean Stream. Katy and I made a deal that if I would exercise with her this summer, she would fly fish with me. I held up my part of the bargain for the past few weeks and now it was time to cash in. After work, we loaded up the car and headed out for a fishing adventure. I've fished Bean Stream a few times, but haven't been back for a few years. As we got close to the stream, we saw a turkey with its two chicks in tow. Katy's first fish on a fly rod by herself!

We hadn't been there for 16 years. Jan and Margie came down for some meetings the first of the week and we went to dinner with them and had a nice visit. Margie brought her family history and I was able to get her started on putting it on the computer. She has one of those beautiful books with all the hand-written sheets. All she has to do is transfer them to the computer and go from there. You haven’t changed a bit! 1 lb lean ground beef.

2 cups onions, chopped. 1 cup fresh mushrooms, sliced. 1 cup carrots, sliced. 1 cup celery, diced. 4 cups beef broth. 1 cup pearl barley, cooked. 1-1/3 cup cooked roast beef, cubed. 1 tsp garlic powder. Dash hot pepper sauce. 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded. I cooked this in my pressure cooker for 3 minutes. Really good! Chili's Southwest Vegetable Soup. 2 tsp olive oil. 1 cup onion, diced. 1 cup frozen corn. 1 cup frozen cut green beans. 1 cup carrots, sliced. 1 (15 oz) can kidney beans w/liquid.
