I went to work for my friend, Joel, who hired me for the headhunter job in August of 1996. About the time I started the job, I called Ray Leszcynski, Editor of the Garland News. We became friends when he was the sports editor at the Garland News, and I was coaching. He didn't realize that I had left teaching. I wanted to spread my success story to as many people as possible.

During the past school year, I started working out with a friend, Stewart Herrington, using free weights in the weight room behind the school. American Brain Tumor Association. Dr Lane's Web Page. It's amazing what the human body, especially the brain, can endure. It took about a month of therapy to regain use of my left side. You can imagine how frustrated I was being an athlete when I couldn't walk without assistance. I still have problems with balance, speech and short term memory loss. My surgeon came in at 7:00 am and told me not to eat breakfast because he had to take out the plastic and start all over again. Mike Traphagan, 2001.
