Friday, August 31, 2012. Our sweet Lauren turned 15 this month! We decorated at school to embarrass her! Her friends brought her a huge teddy bear to carry, flowers, balloons and a whole cake! Keep in mind there are NO lockers at high school now, so she had to carry everything ALL DAY! Gary took Matthew to see a Trophy Truck race in Lake Elsinore. Lauren and Kaitlyn cheered on Olivia for her track finals, where she beat her personal best time! Lauren wanted to go to Knotts Berry Farm for her birthday!

Saturday, July 30, 2011. What an amazing summer we had. It was worth all the saving, all the planning and all the organizing to make this trip happen. I realized some things this summer:. 1 We have too much stuff! We just spent 2 months with no more than we could fit in a carry-on, and we didn't miss anything! 2 I love 80 degree weather. The whole time we were there it was between 80-90 degrees, night and day. 3 I love 80 degree water even more! I swam more than I ever have in the ocean! 6 I am so gratef...

Monday, June 30, 2014. What did we do this week? Well see week 2! We snorkeled, visited Hapuna Beach, Kua Bay Beach, did our favorite hike, Pololu (we spent 5 hours this time climbing trees, exploring, building structures with driftwood, balancing on fallen trees, eating strawberry guavas and hiking! Wednesday, August 10, 2011. 1st day of school. Matthew, 2nd grade. Sydney 6th grade (middle school). Lauren 9th grade (high school). Wednesday, August 3, 2011. One last lava cave and beach trip. I promise, this will be the LAST post on Hawaii! Back to real life now! Our last few days in Kona, we spent hiking Pololu. One last time. That made 5 times for us that we did the hike! Saturday, June 25, 2011. Gary got to head out paddle surfing this morning. He and Josh and Mimi went in search of spinner dolphins. There are tons of them out every morning. They found them! They take their snorkel and masks and when they find the dolphins, they slide off the board and swim with them! The boat holds 6 people, so it was just us. It was REALLY fun! Monday, July 28, 2014. I'm a week behind! We had a week of really good waves- but a really short and violent shore break. All the kids took one tumble where they were pile drived into the sand, and that was enough boogie boarding! Instead we just floated on all the waves! Sunday, August 17, 2014. We all feel that this summer has lasted about 2 seconds! We somehow got to our last week in Hawaii! Monday we said goodbye to our friends the Davis Family. We spent their last day at Kua Bay. We had lots of fun swimming and this time we swam out to a rock that lots of people jump from. Sunday, November 4, 2012. The end of the school year usually means lots of recitals! Matthew's 2nd grade class did a BUGGY musical! Matthew was a firefly. Kaycee did a dance recital. She danced to "The Big Bad Wolf" and "Rio". Kaycee was also in her school chorus recital. They did "Rockin America". Sydney had her end of the year recital for piano. She played "Need You Now".
