We bought coffee and croissants at a local covered market then headed out to Villandry, where we visited the Chateau and gardens. After a spinach and cheese tart for lunch we headed for another chateau, close by. The town of Villandry was also very beautiful. The path then dipped down steeply and our first sight of CAhors came into view. It is an old and newer city nestled in a huge ox bow of the River Lot. As we approached Bordeaux we began to notice more and more vineyards. Strange that in a country known for its wine and having been here for four weeks and drunk a lot of it, this was our first sight of vineyards. I guess we have been too far south so far. After a while all we could see in all directions were vineyards!

After several recommendations and 2 failed attempts (once full, once closing up for the afternoon), I finally had a meal at the Mangia è Bevi restaurant in Palermo. Http:/ www.osteriamangiaebevi.it/. They were right. The food was full of flavour, service no nonsense and efficient and prices less than most of the tourist cafes. It took a while, so I made a meal if it:. Some things I see. This is a list of things I will need to take on the Camino. Backpack weighing less than 1kg. Bin liner to put inside backpack to make it waterproof. Waterproof wallet for documents and money. 3 pairs of underpants (if it rains you will not be able to dry the pair you have washed the night before). 3 pairs of cotton socks (as above). 2 cotton T shirts. 2 pairs of shorts. 1 pair of light weight long trousers. A light weight cotten towel. A small lightweight pillow,. A light weight torch.
