April 14, 2015. Christie Gardens Retirement Home in Toronto. The group meets every second week to make mats. The man in the red. Plaid shirt is 101. I am just so impressed that we can have 5 year olds flattening bags in schools and 101 year olds. Working at the cutting and weaving in retirement homes. We have sent 647 mats so far this year, and there will be a shipment tomorrow and another Wednesday. Thank you so much everyone. it is such a wonderful way to help people in need. xo, Angela.

We need milk bags! May 4, 2015. York Region Catholic schools are working very hard at making mats. Thanks to Sharon Gusz for all her hard work at visiting the schools to give them the information on why we make mats and getting the students to become involved in weaving to produce more mats. MILKBAGSunlimited was launched by Angela Kesthely in Toronto, Ontario following the devastating Haitian Earthquake of 2010. It all started with making mats to be used as mattresses or, table covers for surgery use. It did not stop there. The plastic outer shells of 4 litre milk bags don’t disintegrate in landfills. Summer is here…. June 22, 2015. No room for cars in Angela’s garage; with schools closing their doors for the summer mats are coming in fast and furious! Our wonderful volunteers keep driving vans and SUVs to the depot and more mats come daily. Angela recently hosted a pot luck lunch which was attended by volunteers, corporate supporters and a representative from Canada Food for Children. This was a time to brainstorm and share ideas. We need help to sustain our rapid growth! Summer is almost over.
