Saturday, March 27, 2010. Arrival and the first day in Quito! We arrived in Quito at 9:11 pm which is 10:11 Ohio time and we could only see the lights of the city rising up into the Andes mountains. It was pretty wild being in the airport and everything was in Spanish obviamente, and everyone was definitely staring at us cause we stick out quite a bit. Monday, March 29, 2010. Today we ventured to la ciudad de Patate. This was a pretty small town with about 3,000 people in it and we had to do a scavenger hunt type thing throughout the town. We had a list of questions to get answered and we had to ask the people of Patate! It was our first time that we pretty much had to speak only Spanish because they spoke no English, it was a challenge. We had some crazy fruits and I bought some hot sauce authentic which was pretty good. After that we went to Ba ñ.

Saturday, August 1, 2009. When I was about 6 years old I wore a long sleeve superman shirt with a cape that was attached to the shirt by two small Velcro squares. Now when I say ‘wore’ that is an under statement, the costume was outworn after a week of owning it, would be a better way to put it. This shirt and cape should have been tattooed on me and I would have been happy with it during that time of my life. Memories of playing in the park at my dads work with our dogs are still clear to this day.
