Free, personalized tours of the Museum are scheduled throughout the year and are led by volunteer docents. Docent-led tours are available to any group with advance notice. Maria and her husband, Julian, from San Ildefonso Pueblo were responsible for a revival of the San Ildefonso ceramic tradition. Enjoy objects that have never been displayed with informative labels. The exhibit case in Gallery 4 illustrates the black-on-black pottery process discovered in 1919 by Maria and Julian.

Was a Native American artist who created internationally known pottery. Martinez (born Maria Antonia Montoya), her husband Julian, and other family members examined traditional Pueblo pottery styles and techniques to create pieces which reflect the Pueblo.
