Friday, December 20, 2013. I finished two new quilts. The first one is this jelly roll quilt I started more than a year ago and the second quilt is a fast charm square quilt. I really like this jelly roll quilt. Not only do I like the colors and the design, but I also like the simple white border and colored binding. I washed the quilt twice and it is becoming softer with each wash. I had just enough of this green flowery fabric for the backing. The quilt is bundled up under my gingerbread Christmas tree.

Thursday, January 23, 2014. Disappearing Four patch quilt. The cold weather is perfect for quilting and hand sewing. My oldest daughter wanted to make a quilt for her grandmother. She made this Disappearing Nine patch in 1930's reproduction fabric. The picture below on the left side is my quilt (more picture over here. And on the right side is her quilt. Sunday, September 15, 2013. I am finally done with the binding on this quilt. I washed it twice and love how it is all crinkled up. This quilt got a special place at the end of my bed even before I was done with the binding. I am working on a Tumbler quilt in soft pastels. The fabric gives this soft cottage look that I adore. I used the 6,5" Tumbler go-cutter die. A friend surprised me with a bag of scraps. I immediately took out all the blue, green and yellow strings and started another String quilt.

Thursday, November 20, 2014. How do you pin? How do you pin when you are piecing? From the right side or from the left. That is the question that came to me since I was having issues using a seam guide on my featherweight and my 99-31. I happen to be searching online and saw that someone put their pins in from the left side when using a seam guide. Voila the sewing went seamlessly that way! Give it a try. Sunday, June 15, 2014. I just finished a table runner made from blocks that I had for a sample in the shop years ago. The blocks were made using the Allie Beane pattern by Carol Hopkins Designs. I never was able to complete the wall hanging and when I closed the shop I saved the blocks. I was so happy! Imagine seeing Snoopy dancing away! I was able to use all but 4 of the blocks.
