The Parr family Archives - David Parr House

The Barnett Leach’s. Category Archives: The Parr family. This beautiful ‘pencil tin’ was given to me by Ann, the great-granddaughter of David Parr. It is made from tin and decorated with a beautiful floral pattern. It has the initials ‘D D P’ within a brown shield near the bottom …. 8230; and ‘Pencils’ written within a scroll on the side. Both inscriptions are hand-painted with the lettering of the word ‘pencils’ slightly more crudely executed than that of the initials. The ‘highs’ of research. I had a l...

A site about interesting things in Cambs. Monthly Archives: April 2012. Prison Governor’s House, Cambridge, 1911. April 9, 2012. The garden must have needed a lot of upkeep. All swept away in 1928. The loo window at the back of the house overlooked the prison yard and my great-aunt, as a young girl, observed the last hanging at Cambridge through this window! Cambs Antique Centre Twitter. Suzie Makes: Brambling at Mill Road Cemetery
http://suziemakes.blogspot.com/2014/09/brambling-at-mill-road-cemetery.html
Friday, 19 September 2014. Brambling at Mill Road Cemetery. A fair few weeks ago I went blackberry picking at the local cemetery. There were lots of big juicy blackberries to be had. The cemetery is a little haven away from the hustle and bustle of Mill Road. It's a lovely place to go for a little wander. As might be expected, it's a tranquil place. There are intricately carved monuments and headstones in almost every direction. I love the textures and pinches of colour you stumble upon here and there.
