Nani’s Famous German Chocolate Cake. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 7 by 9 inch baking dish. 3 heaping tablespoons dark cocoa. 1 teaspoon baking soda. 1 stick of salted butter (8 tablespoons). 1 cup of boiling water. Cup buttermilk or sour milk (1/2 cup of milk with 2 tablespoons white vinegar added). 2 teaspoons vanilla extract. Put flour, sugar, baking soda, cocoa, salt and butter into a bowl and add 1 cup of boiling water on top. Ingredients for coconut frosting:. 1 cups of brown sugar.
