I smell of dust, old books and bluebells. The Maker of Swans. Posted by Maya Panika. Asymp; Leave a comment. By Paraic O’Donnell. 8211; an advance review for a book due to be published on 11th February 2016. The very strange tale of Mr Crowe, his mute ward Clara, his powerful adversaries and his loyal servant Eustace. Told almost entirely from Eustace’s point of view, The Maker of Swans is Gothic, dark, strange when is it set? What is her point and purpose in the lives of Mr. Crowe and Eustace? Of course...

Reviews for Entanglement | Maya Panika
https://mayapanika.wordpress.com/a-few-reviews
I smell of dust, old books and bluebells. From Beverley Wiles of Brisbane, Australia. 50 out of 5 stars. Maya’s descriptive talent makes this book a joy to read. Even her minor characters are fully-fleshed; these are people we could meet in our daily lives. Bit players such as the university professors are real. The main characters are beautifully drawn and come alive on the page. I’m glad to see that there will be more, too. July 17, 2012. From Mark Webb, UK. 50 out of 5 stars. July 12, 2012. From: Sand...

I smell of dust, old books and bluebells. Posted by Maya Panika. Asymp; Leave a comment. A compelling and absorbing tale of a woman’s slow absorption into an isolated religious cult and her daughter’s lonely, internal, un-realised rebellion against her mother, the cult, and its charismatic, egoistic leader, the sinister Nathaniel. Ch 1 | Maya Panika

I smell of dust, old books and bluebells. 8211; Erwin Schrödinger. We are all one, physics says so. Particles that have once been in contact will always be connected regardless how far apart they grow. Animal, vegetable or mineral, we were all together at the Big bang; we are all entangled. Einstein called it. Spooky action at a distance. Has crossed the line,. What if we could see through the interface, see into those parallel worlds? In a multiple universe, anyone can predict. Future with certainty sin...

Ch 2 | Maya Panika

I smell of dust, old books and bluebells. Someone called my name. Angry voices. Footsteps echoing, someone running away. The scream of a dying man. I opened my eyes. The whispers began again, louder, closer. I stood up quickly, looked round the room, hoping to catch a glimpse of them, try and work out who they were, and that was when I realised that the strange light wasn’t coming from the telly, it was shining in from outside, beyond the French doors. In all the years I’d been coming here I’d always bee...

I smell of dust, old books and bluebells. Review: The Seed Collectors. Posted by Maya Panika. Asymp; Leave a comment. This is Scarlett Thomas’ best novel yet. The Seed Collectors is compulsively readable, tremendously enjoyable, a more. 8216;The doorway to Fleur’s cottage smells of lapsang souchong, black cardamom and roses, which is a bit how Fleur herself smells, although with Fleur there are layers and layers of scents, each one more rare and strange than the last…’. Ch 3 | Maya Panika
https://mayapanika.wordpress.com/chapter-3
I smell of dust, old books and bluebells. It took me a long time to recover from the lightning strike. I spent a year in hospital, drifting back and forth between worlds, deciding if I should live or die. My Grandparents were now my only family; they had me moved to the local hospital so they could visit every day. It was their love that persuaded me to stay. Are you the same boy who went to bed last night, and if not, why not? Was the war with Hitler a bad thing, a good thing or an indifferent thing?

Ch 5 | Maya Panika
https://mayapanika.wordpress.com/chapter-5
I smell of dust, old books and bluebells. Claude’s bed springs twanged overhead. I followed the soft tread of her slippered feet across the landing, down the stairs and into the kitchen, where I’d spent the night in the warmth and light with the radio on, hiding from the whisperers who assailed me whenever I was tired and alone. Good morning, darling,’ she said. ‘You look worn out; did you sleep here all night? You’re always working,’ I said. ‘You don’t have to, you know.’. I know I don’t. Needed to, rea...

Ch 6 | Maya Panika
https://mayapanika.wordpress.com/chapter-6
I smell of dust, old books and bluebells. A fat silver moon and a single bright star hung low in the sky like Christmas baubles. Sugared trees cast long purple shadows over blue snow. Everything was dead, silent; had my unwelcome visitors moved on? It seemed unlikely, since I was here in My World again without meaning to be, stolen from my sleep. It seemed every time I closed my eyes I found myself back in this world,. World I used to be the one in control but no more it seemed. That scared me. In the ea...
