Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction - Donegal Ireland. Stands for Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction. It is an approach to self-care that is open to anyone wishing to manage stress, chronic pain or illness or to find a way to live with more balance, less stress and greater peace. It is an 8 week programme developed by Dr Jon Kabat-Zinn at the Stress Reduction Clinic in the University of Massachusetts in 1979. It is a practical, experiential programme that is based on the method of mindfulness meditation.
