The sitar hummed in the back of my head, while my broken voice caressed the notes of a song that is slipping away faster than a Puja on the muddy Ganga. The tabla beat in my head and I found myself enthralled once again by the Goddess of the night. Her full, gleaming, white face welcomed our offering, celebrating our being, just as we celebrated her. Reflections On What Was and What Will Be. May 28, 2013. February 2012 – Thailand. The scent of gasoline was heavy in the air and I couldn’t think of anything else. The security guard that I had run to for help was radioing god knows who while his partner mopped up my bleeding leg with a white, linen rag that he had pulled from the depths of his motorbike seat. I had just come from Kelley Zook’s 10. Of too many tiny glass bottles stuffed into a too-small case as the bag landed on the concrete stairs.
