From mind to machine: DIY 12 Gauge Bandolier
http://mindtomachine.blogspot.com/2014/08/diy-12-gauge-bandolier.html
From mind to machine. Tuesday, August 05, 2014. DIY 12 Gauge Bandolier. Since my pipe shotgun. To make this I started by cutting the sections off of the 3/4" pipe that are the same length as the nylon webbing width. The webbing I had was 1.5" wide. Once the first is cut I use it as a template on the PVC pipe to mark each successive cut. I used a miter saw to cut the sections. I don't actually have a miter box anymore, just the saw. I held the PVC pipe in my vise to keep it secure. Dont you find it really...

From mind to machine. Wednesday, October 29, 2014. 15 Homemade Curved Pistol Plate - that actually works! This is a composite armor insert I built at home with hardware store materials. It successfully stopped 10 shots of 9x19mm FMJ fired from about 15 feet away. It cost $15 in materials to build. For video of the test see:. The armor materials are layered in this order, from the front (strike face) to the back (wear face):. 1 layer 18oz/yard Woven Roving Fiberglass cloth - fragmentation/retention liner.
From mind to machine: DIY Armor Projects
http://mindtomachine.blogspot.com/p/armor.html
From mind to machine. You have reached my experimental / concept ballistic armor page. I am interested in bullet resistant armor but have found that commercially available armor can be expensive or difficult to obtain. Many armors use exotic materials or have very high tool requirements, putting them out of the reach of most experimenters. My primary goal is to explore how low-cost, expedient armors can be made at home with commonly available materials and tools. 380 Auto FMJ, .38 Special JHP. 2 layers W...
From mind to machine: DIY Arc Welder finished
http://mindtomachine.blogspot.com/2007/08/i-painted-metal-side-panels-on-welder.html
From mind to machine. Wednesday, August 29, 2007. DIY Arc Welder finished. I painted the metal side panels on the welder green with industrial rustoleum paint. Turned out okay, and at least now they won't rust. Observe my awsome inability to focus the camera! I grabbed some cheap organization brackets from HD and riveted them on. Lets me wrap the welding cables and the power cord for easy transport. Welder is mounted on casters, it weighs 160 lbs. But they aren't dropping much voltage, that is for sure :).
