The value of observing what we do. When I started teaching in the MA TESOL Program at Teachers College, I was assigned a class called Observation. The purpose of the course was to help teachers decide where they would like to practice teach. In groups of six or so, we visited a wide range of classes at many levels in public schools, adult programs and English language institutes in New York City.
