Notes from the Nest: August 2010
http://hawkinsnotes.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Notes from the Nest. Thursday, August 26, 2010. So I've decided to posthumously post on some things we've done recently. This summer Blake went to Chess Camp for a week. He learned a lot about chess and when he wasn't in class or a tournament he got to go boating on the lake, do archery, swim, and have a real summer camp experience. It was in Big Bear, so he spent the night in a cabin and slept on the top bunk of a bunk bed (a dream come true for him). Tuesday, August 24, 2010. Btw, this really is Cass).

The mission office is still recovering from our visit. Tyler and Joel left territorial marks with every pen they touched. We took a trip to the botanical gardens. Here is the chinese section of the garden. Big fun in Chinatown. Tyler's favorite part of the trip was his visit to the Metro. Big smiles on the metro. Tuesday, September 23, 2008. Tyler thou...

Sunday, February 1, 2015. Thats right, our "Utah vacation" was really a Disneyland Vacation in disguise. The kids had no idea about it until the day we left, when we sat them down and had them open a surprise gift containing Disneyland t-shirts. Heres how it all went down. We had the kids all open their gifts at the same time. Madi was the first to catch on and asked "Were going to Disneyland? I asked her, "Brylee, do you know what that shirt is for? Do you want to go to Disneyland? Take a good look at t...

Monday, October 8, 2012. Im going to be lazy and combine two birthdays in one. I know its wrong not to give each girl their own post, but they will get over it. Well, at least one of them will. First up, we have Madi. It will be 1 month tomorrow that she turned teenager. I know what your thinking.have the teenage hormones hit? And the answer is yes. Yes they have. What kind of excuse would she be for a teenager if she didnt have the occasional mood swing, know it all, disagreeable moments? The first thin...

Sunday, July 8, 2012. 4th of July Celebrations. The morning of the 4th was started just like any other traditional 4th of July-with birthday presents! Since it is Katelins party year, she only got one family gift.something she has been begging for-a lava lamp! And also as tradition states, the kids get all the credit for it! Oh well, whatever builds the bonds of sibling-hood. With stars and ribbons in their hair, we were off to the parade! Well, except for this one! This was the last time I wore those su...
