Experiments in living a minimal life. Thursday, June 5, 2014. Over the course of a year, I have lost 30 pounds. This can be done in a lot of ways, but this has been what works for me. Eat more whole fruits and vegetables - a real shocker there. Cut down on sugar. This includes ALL soft drinks, fruit juices, etc. Even supposedly healthy foods can have sugar added to make them taste better. Drink more water. Avoid fruit juice from the store. I had never heard of this thing called minimalism until someone mentioned it in passing. After researching it a bit more, the idea sounded appealing to me. Could I do it though? I wasn't entirely convinced that I could or that I even wanted to. I knew that something had to change, so why not give it a try? I walked more and drove less.
