Wednesday, June 9, 2010. Wishful wednesday: understanding and compassion. I've read posts by fellow bloggers, Blair (www.theheirtoblair.com) and Allison O (www.omyfamily.com) on this topic and it got me thinking. Motherhood is hard. Period. What do I mean by this? I anticipated spit-up covered clothing. Pureed food in my hair. Kid stickers on my sleeve. Goldfish crackers, raisins, juice boxes and bottles replacing my fancy cheeses and wine of my kidless years. Laundry madness. All of this I expected.

Friday, July 20, 2012. 3 am conversation with my 2 year-old. Turn tv. on. No, it's night, night time. Yes, it's broken. Shut your eyes, it's time to sleep. Put baaaah-teri-es in it. Later in the morning while two year-old is fast asleep in my bed, the four year-old conversation:. Mommy, I'd like some milk please. In a little bit after your sister wakes up. It's OK, mommy, I'll take care of my sister. I won't wake her up. Now who can resist that. She took care of her. I got coffee and she got milk.

Sunday, December 8, 2013. Finally getting around to decorating for the holidays. And trying to do that with the two tornadoes (my daughters) isn't so easy. But I managed to make a wreath. It's a super basic one with noble tree trimmings, succulents and dusty miller. I just wired everything together onto a metal hanger from the dry cleaners. So all the materials were FREE! I’m always trying to feed my kids as healthy as possible so when they asked for chocolate chip cookies, I decided to try something new. These turned out better then I expected and my super picky kids couldn’t keep their hands off them. It made a very large batch so I froze half for later. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2 cups Spelt Flour. 15 teaspoon Baking Soda.
