In my league we play 3-on-3 and use tennis balls and wood bats, with games being played in my neighbor's backyard. Saturday, January 24, 2009. Gladiators win on Throwback Night! It was a slow game but behind the leg of Mike Vanderjagt, the Gladiators beat the Nightmare 9 - 6 at home. The Gladiators wore the Birmigham Fire uniforms from the 1991-92 semi-pro football team that was in the World League of Football, which letter became known as the NFL Europa. Alabama led by David Carr came back from a 17 - 7 halftime score to win against Memphis on New Year's Eve night, led by thier defense they turned a bad play into a great play. On 3rd and goal in th 3rd quarter Darren Sproles fumbles on the one yard line. It was recovered by Memphis.
