Sunday, January 30, 2011. Stopped at Starbucks in the airport and got coffee and water. Did that a month ago, and little did I know that I would be refilling that water bottle and using it for weeks. It was distinctive since it was a different brand than anyone else had. When I get home I'll post some pics and movies. Links to this post. Saturday, January 29, 2011. Tuesday, February 1, 2011. Have been home almost 24 hours. Am thankful my flight through Chicago was yesterday before the storm. Am tired but trying to stay upright. Some random thoughts. I was SHOCKED at the volume of water in the shower. Probably used more water in one shower today than in 3.5 weeks of showers in Burundi. Theoretically it's a low flow showerhead, but I'm going to look for another one. No pictures yet. I'm not functional enough to get pics and movies together. View my complete profile.

Saturday, January 29, 2011. Today we have nothing to do. It is wonderful. We all slept in – this is our first day to sleep in during the last 3 weeks. We walked over to the clinic that is under construction to see the progress. Then we went through the big academic building that is under construction. Thursday, January 27, 2011. The power has been out all afternoon, which is a bit unusual. It was on all night so this is the tradeoff. Not a problem for me since I am using this little netbook that has 11 hours of battery life. Becoming a problem for the people in the house whose laptops are running down. Would love to talk when you return. As you have experienced, there are inspiring indigenous leaders in Burundi with the heart and will to work for their people- but so little help.
