New York tales (eventually). The ongoing adventures of a generally drunk Scotsman as he makes his way to (and through) New York. Wednesday, 26 November 2008. I seem to have had a few of these recently - this time it is the National Yank holiday of Thanksgiving which is tomorrow and then Friday as well (which is the National Yank day of shopping as far as I can tell). Actually, the office closes at 3pm today as well so only really a half week. Tuesday, 25 November 2008. Hunter S. Thompson. After a long da...

New York tales (eventually): Tokyo – just a cracking place to live

New York tales (eventually). The ongoing adventures of a generally drunk Scotsman as he makes his way to (and through) New York. Thursday, 25 October 2007. Tokyo – just a cracking place to live. So its my last full day in. As you may have gathered I think this place is great. There is no crime, the place is clean, the people are amazingly respectful of each other, its easy to get around and there are loads of good places to go out at night (and they don’t close). Restaurants: any of the three Ty Harbour.

New York tales (eventually). The ongoing adventures of a generally drunk Scotsman as he makes his way to (and through) New York. Friday, 29 August 2008. I haven;t been posting stories about late nights out in NY as, well, I don't think they have been as interesting as Tokyo and I've had other things to talk about. However, as I'm looking for a space filler for Friday I'll recount my night from last Saturday. Unfortunately, this place was also coming up on last orders at 2am so I headed down to Greenwich ...

New York tales (eventually). The ongoing adventures of a generally drunk Scotsman as he makes his way to (and through) New York. Friday, 31 October 2008. This is a really big deal in Yankland. As I've had to endure numerous discussions of what costume people will be wearing.I wasn't going to bother mentioning it today but this morning on the tube I noticed that there was a woman (probably about mid-50s at least) who was dressed as a witch. Thursday, 30 October 2008. An hour door to door. They play. The L...

New York tales (eventually). The ongoing adventures of a generally drunk Scotsman as he makes his way to (and through) New York. Tuesday, 30 September 2008. Everyone cheer.ice hockey season is (almost) back. Based on Saturday's game this wasn't a good move as the Rangers lost 4 - 2 which isn't too bad until you consider that they were 2 - 0 down in the first 5 minutes and 4 - 0 down halfway through the game. Monday, 29 September 2008. Although this wasn't my fault this time! Friday, 26 September 2008.

New York tales (eventually). The ongoing adventures of a generally drunk Scotsman as he makes his way to (and through) New York. Wednesday, 24 December 2008. Back to NYC and back to ice hockey. I decided to go and see this game as it featured a guy called Alexander Ovechkin who is probably the best attacking player in the league and on the face of last night you can see why - he did stand out for speed, skill and having a ridiculously good shot. Tuesday, 23 December 2008. On Tuesday last week that was my...

New York tales (eventually). The ongoing adventures of a generally drunk Scotsman as he makes his way to (and through) New York. Monday, 23 March 2009. Last of the early beer starts. Or at least last of the early beers starts due to the 6 Nations in NYC. I'm not ruling them out completely. In the future. Turning up for the France v Italy game wasn't really necessary to guarantee. A seat either - in fact there were. Only about a dozen people in the whole bar for the start of that game. Last post in NYC.
