Hester's Classroom Learning Environment: Session 5: Reflection
http://hesteroh.blogspot.com/2007/12/session-5-reflection.html
Hester's Classroom Learning Environment. Wednesday, December 5, 2007. This session gave me the opportunity to work with SPSS. With the help of this programme, we were abble to calculate the corbach alpha and paired sample T test from the raw data that we collected on the previous session. We were also taught how to read and intepret the data. I find this session exceptionally useful as I realise that data can be easily manipulated and should not be read at "face value". Hester's Classroom Learning Environment: Session 4: Reflection
http://hesteroh.blogspot.com/2007/12/session-4-reflection.html
Hester's Classroom Learning Environment. Tuesday, December 4, 2007. We also studied in detail the dimensions of SLEQ and I realized how the various dimensions of SLEQ are linked to Moos' schema. The session ended with all the participants in the class responding to WIHIC survey and we had a good hand-on session feeding the data into excel. I'm looking forward to the next session where we'll be using SPSS to tabulate and analyse our data. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Hester's Classroom Learning Environment: November 2007
http://hesteroh.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html
Hester's Classroom Learning Environment. Thursday, November 29, 2007. The Design of Learning Environment. Compared to the earlier years, schools today face greater challenges and expectations today. Referring the article, “The Design of Learning Environment”, the development of new learning environment probe us to rethink about what is taught, how teachers teach and how students are assessed. Finally there is a clear need to align all the four perspectives of learning environments as they have the potent...

MEd 858 Classroom Learning Environment: Session 5: Reflections
http://pebbles22.blogspot.com/2007/12/session-5-reflections.html
MEd 858 Classroom Learning Environment. Wednesday, December 5, 2007. The highlight of today's session was the "excursion". We went for a library tour, followed by a chill-out session at the students' hub. It was a nice cosy place, especially when it's not crowded. I think i can just sit there to watch the rain, over a cup of hot coffee and a good book! That aside, today we got a first-hand experience of being a "proper researcher"! Ellen Ho Chui Mei @ MED858: November 2007
http://ellenhocm.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html
Ellen Ho Chui Mei @ MED858. Thursday, 1 November 2007. We talk about providing a conducive learning environment for students. The priority for my school in achieving this aim is actually to shape up the discipline aspect. First, the students must come to school with the right frame of mind- -to study, not to play,. Then we can talk about creating a better classroom learning environment. Infrastructure on IT blah blah blah. that comes later. When they are ready. when they deserve to use them.

Ellen Ho Chui Mei @ MED858: What does Cronbach's alpha mean?
http://ellenhocm.blogspot.com/2007/12/what-does-cronbachs-alpha-mean.html
Ellen Ho Chui Mei @ MED858. Tuesday, 4 December 2007. What does Cronbach's alpha mean? Cronbach's alpha measures how well a set of items (or variables) measures a single unidimensional latent construct. When data have a multidimensional structure, Cronbach's alpha will usually be low. Technically speaking, Cronbach's alpha is not a statistical test - it is a coefficient of reliability (or consistency). Http:/ www.ats.ucla.edu/STAT/SPSS/faq/alpha.html. Ellen Ho Chui Mei @ MED858: Reflections on the videos and articles (session 2)
http://ellenhocm.blogspot.com/2007/12/reflections-on-videos-and-articles.html
Ellen Ho Chui Mei @ MED858. Monday, 3 December 2007. Reflections on the videos and articles (session 2). If there is an opportunity to carry out the proposal, they can adopt what Ms Mclane did, write their entire experience on their blogs for others back in Singapore to access and comment. In this case, technology integration, then, will not be an outcome, but rather a part of the larger instructional design process. Engaged learning will then be not confined to classroom. The possibilities are boundless.
