Today Miss Webb and Mrs Jackson went to a farm in Leeds to pick up the chicken eggs ready for this term's hatching project. We collected 20 eggs from Meanwood Valley Urban Farm and brought them back to Bradford to start the incubation process. These chickens laid the eggs. This is Mrs Jackson with the cockerel. He was very gooey and sticky at first but he soon fluffed up. The whole family was in town and they had to get together for one group shot, at the very least. It was in the 30's with wind (it does get cold in Sacramento), but we did what we could as long as everyone could stand it, which happened to be for about 45 minutes (much less for the little ones). You might not even be able to tell how uncomfortable everyone was because they were such troopers. Hopefully, I'll get the chance to photograph them again.
