As I already knew, my spinal tap was positive for Multiple Sclerosis. They are starting me on Copaxone, a nurse is coming to the house to teach me how to give myself the injections next week. Fast forward three years: I'm sitting in the waiting room of my primary care physician, watching the TV showing varies public service announcements and health tips to pass the time. I was pleasantly surprised when a segment about vitamin D came on and the announcer included "to help prevent the autoimmune disease, Multiple Sclerosis". Until next time, be well.

A journey through life with Multiple Sclerosis and a quest for better overall health. Tuesday, October 28, 2008. Yay I can see! I am typing this without one lens covered, and with both eyes open! Does a happy dance*. And, I notice a definite improvement when walking, too. I don't feel nearly as unbalanced and unsteady. I am still struggling with going up or down steps and maneuvering tight areas, but at least I can walk across a room without feeling like I'm gonna fall on my bottom. Links to this post.

It's almost surreal to think five years ago today I started this blog. It was also the day I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. As poor as my memory is these days, October 22, 2008 is a date I will never forget. Surprisingly, I consider the day I was diagnosed with MS a good anniversary. Why do I see the anniversary of my MS diagnosis as a good thing?
