Because literati was taken. Monday, August 17, 2009. Let's review.'The Girl Who Played With Fire' by Stieg Larsson. I stayed up late last night to finish "The Girl Who Played With Fire" by Stieg Larsson. I couldn't wait to find out the ending.there had been so many unexpected twists and turns.I was riveted. And then just as I reached page 503 at midnight, I was greeted with a cliffhanger. A cliffhanger! But if you're game, check them out. August 21, 2009 at 8:18 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Because literati was taken. Thursday, July 30, 2009. Let's review.'The Book Thief' by Markus Zusak. There is only one book I have read where the writing was so beautiful that I devoured every word, every sentence. I didn't skim. I didn't breeze through passages. I soaked up every word. And when the story was over, I immediately wanted to reread it. That book was "Shopgirl" by Steve Martin. That was until I read "The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak. In Liesel Meminger, a.k.a. the book thief, we're...I wish I ...

Page Counts: The temptation of an e-reader
http://pagecounts.blogspot.com/2010/04/temptation-of-e-reader.html
Because literati was taken. Friday, April 9, 2010. The temptation of an e-reader. I have been tempted by the seduction of a technological mistress - the e-reader. And I have, at last, been tempted. On Easter my mother gave my husband her first edition Kindle. She bought it when they first came out but has never actually used it. She claims she won't be able to figure out the technology. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I still remember the first story I ever wrote at the tender age of 10. It wasn'...

http://pagecounts.blogspot.com/2009/08/lets-reviewbest-friends-forever-by.html
Because literati was taken. Friday, August 21, 2009. Let's review.'Best Friends Forever' by Jennifer Weiner. I think all told I have read at least 10 books in the past month and a half. Last night I finished "Best Friends Forever" by Jennifer Weiner. I am a big fan of hers. I have read almost every book she's written. Being that there are only seven of them, it hasn't been a hard feat. I like her writing style and find her books entertaining. Adler thinks she has "killed" a fellow high school classmate, ...

Because literati was taken. Thursday, April 21, 2011. The ultimate surrender - NOOKColor. I didn't think it would happen but an e-reader has come into my life. But not just any e-reader - the NOOKColor. And I never thought I would say this.but I love it. I really, honestly do. Why Barnes and Noble's NOOK and not Amazon's Kindle or Apple's IPad, you ask? Now, if only Barnes and Noble, or the book publishers, would just cut the price of e-books, I would stop buying real books. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Because literati was taken. Monday, October 19, 2009. Let's review.'Handle with Care' by Jodi Picoult. I'm a huge fan of Jodi Picoult. One of my favorite books is "My Sister's Keeper." I once covered an event she was reading at and stood a foot away from her - don't ask me why I didn't go and introduce myself.I suppose I was a little shy. The moral question in this book was centered around a "wrongful birth" law suit. The plantiff, Charlotte O'Keefe, sued her OBGYN, who also happened to be her best f...

Because literati was taken. Thursday, September 17, 2009. Let's review.three books to cap off my summer of reading. Having gone back to work recently, I haven't had time to update the blog with the new books I've read.but don't you worry, I haven't stopped reading. I started the new Nora Roberts book "Black Hills" the other night. Nora Roberts is my guilty pleasure. I'm not a huge fan of romance novels anymore but Roberts' writing is always tight, fresh and captivating. She is the first autho...I still r...
