Saturday, August 8, 2015. At the soup kitchen. I met an old man,. He was like a hot Sunday afternoon. Easy,simple and nothing complicated. He sat with his legs dangled over the kitchen counter and let out a cackle as he rambled on about some mundane chore. On and on he went. A little past lunch time, and a few homeless trickled in to collect their meals. The old man laughed with them at the little things. So easily. I remember their smiles as they came by, they were beautiful and filled with gratitude.

Tuesday, July 29, 2014. A taste of Japan with a pocket WiFi. A little something about my trip to Japan this Summer. This trip, I planned entirely on my own. Nagoya, Tokyo, Kyoto. Saturday, March 1, 2014. They assured me that this would be a start of something good. I guess they were right :). I'm not sure what it is, but I am happy with where I am now. Everything so far, has been better than expected. Perhaps it's the friendship I've found,. The people I've met,. The simple sense of belonging,. The inside jokes,. And maybe because I'm studying something I am passionate about. Maybe it's a tad bit early to say this, but I am really glad I made the choices I made. Some of the guys.

Monday, April 20, 2015. Today I am grateful. For when I see food vendors bracing the sweltering heat and unpredictable storms, I am grateful to be on the other end of the stall. I wish they didn't have to be doing this. I entered a cab that reeked of the smell of cigarettes, and I wondered if the number of puffs the uncle took were proportional to his troubles.
