Cool Iris and Digital Story Board. Technology-assisted speech activities →. November 20, 2010. I always loved to learn this since Paul showed us a few encouring digital stories last year. So, today I’m so excited as I finally produced my own! My experience in rowing definitely attributes a lot in shaping who I am right now. This is an important part of memories that I will never forget in my entire life. Http:/ ihome.cuhk.edu.hk/ s1010115700/PhotoStoryCherryl.wmv. This entry was posted in CALL my work.

About Cherryl | Cherrylwong's Blog
https://cherrylwong.wordpress.com/about-me
I’m Cherryl A. Wong, I’m now teaching in a boys’ school on Hong Kong Island. This year, I teach three English classes, including F1, 2 and 4, as well as one Liberal Studies class of F5. This is my very first year in this school. Everything is so new to me, colleagues, students and ‘style’ of the school. Some think that working in a band-one school must have a very comfortable teaching life. This is absolutely wrong! That’s why I need to be very well-prepared for EVERY SINGLE lesson! I SIMPLY LOVE TEACHING.

Today we learnt a few software that are useful for improving students’ speaking competence, including ‘Tell me more’, ‘VoiceThread’, ‘Podcast’ and ‘Audacity’. Among all, I like audacity the most. I can ask students to record a read-aloud or produce a radio drama with background music using Audacity. I’m sure they’ll love it! I will definitely try this out in my school! Here is the read-aloud that I produced using Audacity. I have come to a frightening conclusion.

Children Full of Life. Cool Iris and Digital Story Board. November 20, 2010. Today I learnt to use a very powerful tool for browsing photos and videos called Cool Iris. This tool can be used for teaching when the teachers need to show students pictures. It will definitely arise students’ interest in learning. In this lesson, I made a photo wall of my most favorite hang-outs in Hong Kong, including Tai O, Pak Nei and Ocean Park. Digital storyboard that I created about my favorite hang-out in Hong Kong:.

Now, I’m so excited as there are just so many for me to try out in my class and sometimes I don’t know where to start from. This is really good! With all this technology to make English fun, I hope my students will enjoy CALL as I do! This is my 2E class, the best in the whole form. I’ll probably try out CALL in their class next term. https://cherrylwong.wordpress.com/2010/10/30/my-first-prezi
Children Full of Life →. October 30, 2010. Today we learnt a very powerful presentation tool called Prezi. Prezi is free for download and very easy to use. The most stunning thing is that it enables non-linear presentation which allows users to zoom in and zoom out of a visual map by simply clicking the mouse. If I use Prezi in my class, my students will definitely be amazed! Here is the Prezi that I created this lesson- Places to visit before you die (Cutting Edge Upper Intermediate module 3).
