First Day of My Life: Traces of Rome in Morocco
https://cherlocked.blogspot.com/2015/07/traces-of-rome-in-morocco.html
Tuesday, June 30, 2015. Traces of Rome in Morocco. The first author I read for my Society and Politics of North Africa. Course, Phillip Naylor, believes that North Africa is historically and characteristically distinct because it is transcultural. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). First Day of My Life: Yet Another Empty Space
https://cherlocked.blogspot.com/2015/05/yet-another-empty-space.html
Saturday, May 9, 2015. Yet Another Empty Space. Tonight is my last night in Residential College 4- my dorm for the past year. I am not even sleeping in fear of missing my flight, and I'm doing last-minute laundry and packing to pass time. The Release of Thoughts. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). First Day of My Life: December 2013
https://cherlocked.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Friday, December 13, 2013. I sigh. Another question. Another dumb question. Why is she asking this? Isn't the answer obvious? In the classroom, I mostly remain quiet, but in my head I always have a conversation with myself. Sometimes I even secretly laugh. I get annoyed at questions that I think are "dumb", and surprisingly there are more of these in college than in high school. I knew what it was; I used to hear it from myself. First Day of My Life: 24-Hour Spectrum
https://cherlocked.blogspot.com/2015/04/24-hour-spectrum.html
Friday, April 17, 2015. Last night, 11.00 pm. This morning, 7am. This afternoon, 12.45pm. Of course I have had my fair share of boring seminars every once in a while or classes where I just did not say anything, but everyday I always looked forward to seeing my professors and friends (and having a good laugh). Well, nevertheless I have ended it on a strong note, and I hope next semester will look something like this. The Release of Thoughts. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Release of Thoughts.

First Day of My Life: On Our Outdated Orientation
https://cherlocked.blogspot.com/2015/03/on-orientation-its-failure-and-what-i.html
Saturday, March 28, 2015. On Our Outdated Orientation. Who amongst you didn't have breakfast? What to others looked like signs of "care", looked to me like a useless tradition served to mind other people's business. The days would exponentially get worse towards the end; seniors would "remind" me to smile and greet them by shouting in my ears, ironically not smiling themselves. Tell me again why I should smile and greet someone who is shouting at me in (fake) anger? The Release of Thoughts. Yes Gw juga a...

First Day of My Life: The Sahara, Part I: Oasis
https://cherlocked.blogspot.com/2015/08/the-sahara-part-i.html
Friday, July 3, 2015. The Sahara, Part I: Oasis. My Sahara story begins with a long drive down from the Middle Atlas mountains to the south, where I get to see more of the Morocco's diverse landscapes from the car’s window and visit some forsaken historical sites I never knew existed. You see, visiting the famous desert is not merely about running up the sand dunes or riding a camel to see the sunrise. It is also about the getting there. One of the many surprises on the way to the Sahara: water.

First Day of My Life: Reading and Feeling: A Trade-Off
https://cherlocked.blogspot.com/2015/04/reading-and-feeling-trade-off.html
Sunday, April 12, 2015. Reading and Feeling: A Trade-Off. Sometimes the same book that others research and debate on simply appeal to me. To be read, to inspire, and to entertain. And this is why we re-read books; the experience and interpretation are always different each time, and if my takeaway today is as shallow as "inspiring ". If Gregor's sister's real feelings does not matter to me, should I still be forced to decide if she's evil or sincere? The Release of Thoughts. The Release of Thoughts.
