With numerous smartphones being used as cameras, the darkness is punctuated by bright flashes of blue light. Onlookers glued to their iPhones before the start. UK shoots and places. March 29, 2015. Last week our daughters organised for us to visit Reykjavik in Iceland to see the solar eclipse on Friday 20th March. Despite the rain for much of our visit we were lucky in that the sky cleared on the Friday morning. Too bright obviously to photograph within a picture, I spent some time around the cathedral watching others look through darkened glasses. Two entrepreneurial youngsters selling fridge magnets. Led by Clive and Phil, this was a truly enjoyable trip, despite the inclement weather that January often brings to that part of Italy. It has been a while since my last blog entry, largely due to my having eye surgery during the first half of 2014, but now I have a number of trips to report on. The city of Matera. Taken with a 10 stop ND filter. The region is best known for its “Trullis”, single story structures made of local stone with conical roofs. Dawn breaks over trulls in Aberobello. We came across a deserted trull with marvellous colours and textures on the internal walls.

The Missenden Wine Circle
The Missenden Wine Circle meets bi-monthly at Chesham Cricket Club, Amy Lane, Chesham, Bucks. Meetings normally take place on the second Thursday of the month and start at 8.00 pm. Our primary aim is to taste the wines of the world with an educational approach to viticulture, vinification, matching wine with food - and similar related subjects.
