First World War Letters from Harold McGill to Emma Griffis
Whitley, April 23/19 | Dear Miss Griffis
https://missgriffis.wordpress.com/2008/11/12/whitley-april-2319
First World War Letters from Harold McGill to Emma Griffis. Whitley, April 23/19. Your two letters are to hand. I received the one dated April 20 last evening and the other this morning. Apparently a letter takes two days to come from London here. I am very sorry to hear of Mrs. Gardner’s illness. She will be more anxious than ever now to get back to Canada. I forgot to tell you that I wanted combination suits in the underwear, but I presume you ordered such. I have worn no other kind for some years.

First World War Letters from Harold McGill to Emma Griffis. Witley, April 21/19. This is my first letter to you in quite a long time. I got off at Godalming yesterday afternoon and got out to the camp without any especial exciting adventures. The evening was quite chilly. Write soon and let me know how you are getting along with your shopping. I have a few pounds left over after our leave in case you should need any money. Harold W. McGill. First World War Letters from Harold McGill to Emma Griffis. Belgium, March 31/19. I was disappointed in not receiving a letter from you to-day but had a telegram from Capt Bouck to the effect that you were going along well. Perhaps I shall have a letter from you to-morrow. If one does not come then I shall probably not hear from or of you until I arrive in England. With all my love. Harold W. McGill. On November 10, 2008 at 8:00 am Leave a Comment. Harold Skilling's Letters From World War One. Sunday, October 27, 2013. 9 June 1916 Flanders. We all wear the new steel helmet now when we go up there. It certainly saves scores of lives. One of our boys got a big dent in his, as big as a fist. Certainly saved his life. I was very much disappointed that I could not get up but I’ll try and get up next time. We were lucky to get off with only one casualty. Well I must ring off and get to bed. Hope everyone is well. Labels: 4th Field Ambulance. See: http:/ ...

Im in Ur Museum Blogz. Wednesday, October 07, 2009. I just read Mike's post. About holding two twitter accounts: one personal, one professional - and the incomplete comfort there is in doing that. And it really struck a chord. But I keenly feel this personal/professional divide. I straddle it poorly. I have four blogs. Four. Plus two or three blogs I had agreed to contribute to and don't (sorry guys). I have this blog, my personal blog, my knitting blog. And my collections management blog. And my interne...

Harold Skilling's Letters From World War One: August 2013

Harold Skilling's Letters From World War One. Tuesday, August 27, 2013. 11 March 1916 France. There is a village here and a railway but not very many troops. We are the only Canadians here and when the other section first came here they were considered quite unique by the French but they will soon stopped showering us any favors when they find out that the British Tommies do not like it. Our billets are pretty fair but not as good as at the Château. I am enclosing a few snaps of the village here. I w...
