Minnesota, United States. View my complete profile. Spinning, Knitting, and Shetland. Naturally I had to choose six colors! This is how the single looks on the bobbin. The bottom skein is the one with the "mistake" and the top skein is my second and successful skein. They are both two-ply yarns. The more the colors are carded, the more subtle the color gradation. I had this going when class ended. I have to admit I like the color bits in the transition colors. Wildflowers were blooming everywhere.

Minnesota, United States. View my complete profile. The long and winding yarn. Ben came up over the weekend to ride with Jim. Good exercise and a fun time together. I finished the Sinopia shawlette from Curls. I confess to a bit of whining during the process. I found the chart difficult to read. I prefer uncluttered charts for knitting. Checking through my books I could see the difference. This was a great one skein project. Baah Aspen was lovely yarn to work with and the color is just gorgeous. I purpos...

After the opening campfire the staff and participants head to cracker barrel. Gery is our mascot. On the fibery side of life the Jacob fleece is spinning up nicely and I finished a vest for the shop. The Rowan Cotton Lustre is beautiful knitting yarn. It has lovely drape, color and is so soft. I call all of this eye surgery spinning.

Minnesota, United States. View my complete profile. On the mend and handspun. Tuesday, 26 May. I can see the inside of the eye shield very clearly and a bit more definition beyond. The vision is still watery, but I can see and that is a wonderful thing! Thursday, 28 May. Getting ready for class. I ended up using an eye patch to keep anything from getting in my eye. A little lipstick and a comb through the hair and I was good to go! Links to this post. Jacob and silk noil. The eyes have it. The fleece I b...

Minnesota, United States. View my complete profile. I am working on finishing the Little Black Vest. Mine is LUV (Little Umber Vest). I decided to press the fabric as Sally suggested and it worked beautifully! I do not think it would be appropriate for all types of yarn, but for the Rowan Pure Wool Worsted. It worked great. Press is the key word. No moving the iron over the knitted fabric! The front edge below the zipper is finished. A two-row purl ridge is a simple and clean edging for the armhole.

Minnesota, United States. View my complete profile. It's sweater weather. I am working on three sweaters. One sample cardigan for the shop, my custom fit cardigan, and my trapeze pullover. I think about why I love knitting these sweaters, the patterns are well-written and the shapes are simple and classic. The yarns for the projects are so beautiful. In the Pink is a bit longer than the photo shows. Working to 26.25" in length while increasing takes some time. I call the trapeze pullover In the Pink.

Minnesota, United States. View my complete profile. I celebrated a big birthday recently. It felt good to celebrate, too- I made it! Jim and I celebrated with a nice supper and then birthday cake. On Sunday Ben and Jim had an open house for me. It was so nice to visit with friends and neighbors- and another delicious birthday cake! I got a Fitbit from Ben and a 15-inch Cricket Loom with a stand from Jim. I did a small weaving and will warp the loom today. Photos to come. Another hat- two in one! A shape ...
