Sunday, September 23, 2007. Since I was young I have always enjoyed the driving pulse of a well played rhythm. Whether it was chopsticks, pencils or the car steering wheel the world was my drum set. What some teachers may have thought was a nervous twitch paid off. I went to a church of Christ university with a full ride scholarship to play drums. I was told that I was to play drums and recruit girls to come to the University. Maybe I should be paying them! Now I have three boys who love to play drums.

Tuesday, January 31, 2006. Atwooki Florence is baptised. Florence's husband, Switiza has been very active in the Fort Portal church of Christ for the last several months. He has taken the lead in organizing a weekly youth program on Saturdays. Each Sunday they have been putting on a skit at church. We have been praying for his wife Atwooki Florence. Did he write a scripture? Did he write from memory chapters of the the Torah? Did he write the words to his favorite song? Tuesday, July 10, 2007. Doug and Destiny watched our kids for two nights while Cheryl and I celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary. We went to Mweya Safari Lodge in Queen Elizabeth national park. At dinner time we got all dressed up and enjoyed just being together. It was really fun. We laughed and laughed. Thanks you Doug and Destiny for this wonderful gift! During the day we went swimming "It felt strange not to have a single floaty to blow up." Resting by the pool felt nice. Fort Portal, Uganda.

Andrew and I love the weather of Fort Portal, especially on rainy, gloomy days. It reminds us so much of the Northwest! I know that it is hard for some of you to believe because, well, we live in Africa! Isn't it suppose to be hot here? Now all we need is a Starbucks to come into town and then my rainy days would be COMPLETE!

Aimee Jo from Idaho. Saturday, May 09, 2009. Yes, it's true. When I was a small child, I went through a phase of calling my parents by their names. Not "Mommy" and "Daddy", but "Dennis" and "Donna". My mom said that I wasn't disrespectful, and it soon passed. I'll keep that in mind, since my 20 month old has now found that I not only answer to "Mommy" but to "Aimee" as well! I think that she feels so grown up when she uses my adult name, because she gets a little smirk on her face when calling me.
