Tuesday, December 20, 2011. A Christmas Story, Mariachi Style. Mariachi San Pablo had a Christmas Concert this year, on Saturday night 12/17! Basically I read the Christmas story to 3 of the kids, while the rest acted it out behind me- with appropriate songs interspersed in the drama. Since I was onstage, Chris's mom Carol was my designated photographer:. The group was divided by section either side of the church: violins and trumpets on one side. Guitars and bass on the other. Monday, December 12, 2011. I went to my first and only posada of 2011 yesterday. I'm not sure how it worked out that I got to attend all of them in 2009, but this year they are almost all after I go home for Christmas; last year was the same story. Oh well, I guess the dates just worked out right. Yesterday's was pretty toned down, but fun anyway- lots of kids! Ours had one stop, the church itself. I was one of the pilgrims. Monday, January 31, 2011. We only get one or maybe 1 1/2-2 this week since it's gonna get COLD (for El Paso: high of 28 and low of 12 on Wednesday, snow flurries likely). So we rearranged the project schedule for the Bella Vista Lutheran servant event (1 couple, Ron and Kay), and I accompanied Genaro and Ron to Juarez to repair a roof today!
