Missives from America – a Running commentary. Finally…sub 1.30 in the Vancouver half marathon. May 11, 2015. Lisa dropped me off at the start in plenty of time for the 7am gun on a warm morning so I looked a bit out of place in my bin bag but I figured the warmer I could keep myself the better. After the obligatory speeches and the Canadian national anthem – no one knows the words – we were off at 7am sharp. Strategically and tactically this was probably my best race ever! March 9, 2015. One of the signature races in Bellingham is the Lake Padden Mudfest, originally run in November, until last year, it was meant to be a muddy 6.4 mile slog around the Padden horse trails.
