It started with a tire blow-out on the way to the funeral. Everyone was okay, but we arrived a bit sweaty and smelling faintly of highway. Take note: this is why you always plan an extra thirty minutes when your destination is over an hour away. The funeral was for Uncle Phil's aunt. Was mentioned, as was Ironman 2. Thoughts of a Texas junior. Honor Flight: Honoring World War II Veterans. January 3, 2017. My grandmother is a member of the D. Aughters of the A. Evolution – or DAR. On the Honor Flight website they state their mission: To transport America’s Veterans to Washington, DC to visit those memorials dedicated to honor the service and sacrifices of themselves and their friends. 2 of which survived Pearl Harbor. I grabbed my camera and headed off to welcome home these AMAZING heroes. It was a huge turnout!
