http://teachingmrsryan.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Teaching Mrs. Ryan. Monday, June 24, 2013. I rationalized it this way: Acrobat XI Pro starts at $499 plus you have to pay for the upgrades. I get tons of applications for $240 and the updates are free. I'll post some of the things I make and learn along the way. Are you enjoying learning new things for your summer? What type of professional development are you doing? I'm looking for some good reading material ;). Labels: Adobe Creative Cloud. Sunday, June 2, 2013. Ah, Summer Time! 2) A sense of humor.

Teaching Mrs. Ryan: September 2013
http://teachingmrsryan.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Teaching Mrs. Ryan. Sunday, September 1, 2013. It amazes me to know we are rolling into our 4th week of school and already so much has been done! I promise I will not complain about a school year flying by! You can find this foldable HERE! If they don't fully understand the concept and they NEED to fully understand the concept, then reteach! There will be so much going on this year that my head is spinning trying to organize it all. I eat, breathe, and sleep teaching during the school year! View my compl...

Teaching Mrs. Ryan: February 2013
http://teachingmrsryan.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Teaching Mrs. Ryan. Saturday, February 9, 2013. Well I knew it was bound to happen at some point. I know that every teacher experiences it. How to overcome it, will be the biggest victory I've had so far in my career as a teacher. The roadblock I'm talking about is when you teach a concept, reteach that concept, and teach it again. and the students still don't get it. Right now, my roadblock is equations. Equations! 1) My students lack basic math skills. 2) My students lack confidence in math.

Composition Classroom: April 2013
http://compositionclassroom.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 26, 2013. End of Year Blog Hop and Giveaway. We've all experienced the almost-the-end-of-the-year restless class syndrome. One strategy I've used successfully to get students to focus and finish strong is to pass out raffle tickets for doing well (getting a certain score on a pop quiz, participating in a class discussion etc.). I also give out tickets after reviewing each student's grade sheet, and making a plan for the rest of the year. Posted by Laura Torres. End of the year. Today was th...

Teaching Mrs. Ryan: July 2013
http://teachingmrsryan.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Teaching Mrs. Ryan. Thursday, July 25, 2013. Back to School. OH SO SOON! I hope everyone has been enjoying their summer as much as I have. Well aside from that silly surgery I had! Right now I'm getting prepared to go back to work. I only have a week and a half before teacher in-service begins and two and a half weeks before I'll be standing in my classroom in front of my students. Every teacher knows what this means; the classroom must be prepared, and the lesson plans must be ready to go! Is by Dr....

Teaching Mrs. Ryan: July 2015
http://teachingmrsryan.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Teaching Mrs. Ryan. Friday, July 10, 2015. Let me be honest. I live for the summer. I always knew teaching would be the perfect job for me because when I wasn't a teacher and spring hit. oh it was so hard to sit still in an office. The last job I held before I taught was perfect for that! I was able to turn off my fluorescent lights and open the blinds and let the natural light come in, and I would make excuses to visit clients so I could get out of my cubby and go! And of course through the trials and e...

Teaching Mrs. Ryan: August 2015
http://teachingmrsryan.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Teaching Mrs. Ryan. Monday, August 10, 2015. Let the "In-Service" Begin! Every year when students are counting those days left of summer time fun, teachers are going back early. We have to get our classrooms ready and of course training. Tons and tons and tons of training. In fact, I've started my training 3 weeks before students come back to school and MAN am I learning a lot! That was amazing week number 1! It is a very sad yet true problems many school children in our country face. I would be inte...

Teaching Mrs. Ryan: December 2013
http://teachingmrsryan.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Teaching Mrs. Ryan. Saturday, December 28, 2013. I think we can all relate to that time when we finally can have some much needed rest to recharge our creative batteries. Let's face it, teaching can drain you! Beyond the politics, the standards, the classroom diversions, there is this need to be the most innovative teacher you can be. I know I'm always looking for more creative ways to teach the same old boring lessons. What are your plans and goals? I hope you are enjoying your vacation!
