Lani's Lovely Learning Blog. Wednesday, 25 February 2015. First few weeks of School. Hi my name is Lani. We have now started a new school year we have new teacher, new class, new classmates and new leadership roles. I have Miss Osborn as my new teacher I am in Room 12 and I have mostly all new classmates because I am a year 7/8 class. Since I'm a year 8 I have leadership roles I need to take. Now as a year 8 I was voted house captain and so I accepted this challenge happily now I'm Aparima house captain.

Lani's Lovely Learning Blog. Thursday, 27 March 2014. Malala Yousafzai was born on July 12 1997 in Mingora Pakistan, located in the country's Swat Valey. As a child she became a advocate for girls' education which resulted in the Taliban issuing a death threat against her. On October 9 2012 a gunman shot Malala when she was travelling home from school. She survived on and has continued to speak out on importance of education. Posted by Winton Year 7 and 8 Students. Lani's Lovely Learning Blog. Thursday, 25 June 2015. Daisy donkey and Harry horse. Daisy donkey (with a grey coat) woke up on a sweltering hot morning. She was outside and warm, she felt as if she was curled up with her family around her. Daisy got up and had some hay for breakfast. While across the meadow, Harry the big brown horse was a bit chilly inside his room (with a T.V, couch, bed and other expensive things) in the big red barn because the bright yellow sun didn't reach inside his room.

Lani's Lovely Learning Blog. Wednesday, 21 May 2014. Nigel Brown I AM Art Work. We have been learning about Nigel Brown's artwork and we have learnt some techniques about painting he looks like this. He inspired us us to do I AM and this is some of his I AM art work. But we properly looked at this one for ideas and to learn how to do capital 3-D block lettering and to show how to put in what we love and tho show where we come from to show we are from Winton. Lani's Lovely Learning Blog. Wednesday, 9 April 2014. In Room 9 this week Ms Mynes has given us our maths groups. They are The Fibonacci's, The Einstein's and the Palindrome. I am in The Einstiens and our home work is to do some research on our math group and I found out that Einstiens is the last name of a famous scientist named Albert Einstein. This is his signature. He is well known for his mass-energy formula. This is a 4 meter tall sculpture of Einstiens E=MC 2 formula at the 2006 walk of ideas.

Lani's Lovely Learning Blog. Wednesday, 4 March 2015. Maths in Room 12. In my maths group we have been learning about adding and subtracting decimals. I have some work I wanted to show everyone. We learned to do it like this:. 10 20 = 3.0. 08 07 =1.5. 15 30 = 4.5. 10 10 = 2.0. 02 09 = 1.1. 20 11 = 3.1. 00 170 = 17.0. 04 07 = 1.1. 11 170 = 18.1.
