January 7th, 2014. Time and time again I'm waking up from a sound sleep, unable to get back. I think that my general discontentment has made it very hard for me of late, and has filtered into my subconscious mind. Its not regret. Not really. Except for a sudden desire to be a better friend, and a wish I had been there. Of course, its not bad as long as its not wallowing, and I don't think it is. Its more like a desire to be closer, and to give more. I have odd thoughts in these moments of wakefulness.

Why I listen to NPR. May 21st, 2012. So, there's this thing on one of the programs I listen to called 3-minute fiction. Basically its an open writing contest. Submissions are emailed in. They must all be written so that, when read aloud, the story will take up about 3 minutes of time. Other than that, there's usually a requirement like: the first line of the story needs to be: "He looked at the old house and sighed.". I say "In this case" because this one motivated me to share it. The end of summer.
