We are slowly teasing answers out of Mr. Edwards. Who are your influences? There are several important artists from different time periods who are important to me. Phillip Guston because of his courage to change. He was successful with what he was doing, but he grew out of that style, and even though he paid a dear price was courageous enough to make the change. He realized there were more important things than to repeat what had already been said. Henri Mattise showed me how to be free with color.
