Me and gravity, we never could agree" - Matt Nathanson. Colorado Springs - Personal History - Access 09. There's something special about climbing in Colorado Springs that I find myself taking for granted. Well, if you take into account the 300 sunny days/year, amazing proximity to a myriad of "local" climbing areas, rock type and styles. I guess there's more than just a few things that I'm grateful for. I've been climbing long enough that. I climb with has changed a lot. But that also couldn't last long.

It climbs through amazing pods in a Ceuse-esque, perfectly overhanging wall, to a tall topout. Jeff sent this pretty quickly and named it Hoagies in Heaven (2003-2004? Last Friday I jetted out of work early and hauled ass to Canon City to meet up with fellow Henchmen Chris Gatzke with the primary objective of searching and scrubbing new blocks. We arrived at our pristine camp site around 1:30ish which was situated in a sick meadow at around 11,000 ft. This is by far one of the best camping spots I have seen in the CO, serious! Monday, July 27, 2009. Last Tuesday afternoon, errrrr late Tuesday afternoon Dave Marquess and I hit the road to Lander, WY to celebrate his recent graduation from CU Boulder. We arrived in Lander around 10pm and mini epiced to find some place to call home for the night. We eventually ended up in what is probably the worst single camp sight in Sinks Canyon and started consuming beers almost immediately after getting out of the car. Saturday, January 17, 2009. Is opening for Immortal Technique on Tuesday the 20th at Cervantes in D-Town. Rock on Dizzle! The last few weeks have been full of crazy good climbing with good friends and there seems to be no end in sight. Psych levels in the SoCo are high right now and there are a number of people willing to put in the work to find and climb new rock! I think this summer is going to be one for the books! Before I even got to pull on Fat Sacks I jacked myself up.classic!

Sunday, June 27, 2010. Hiking the Manitou Incline. We made a spur-or-the-moment decision late yesterday to hike the Manitou Incline with our friends the Hansens. This is a straight shot that goes up over 2000 ft in about a mile distance. Up a bunch of railroad ties. It's about an average 40% grade. And a little over an hour later. here we are at the TOP! Here's a little video I took. But it's kinda hard to capture the steepness with pics or video. My butt and thighs hurt just from looking at this post.

Monday, September 7, 2009. What a great day celebrating labor. We learned a lesson from the last 3 day weekend and decided not to even attempt to drive with 90% of other Coloradans to the mountains.
