http://dcbruxvoort.blogspot.com/2009/05/annie-surgery-update.html
Dan and Carol Bruxvoort. Thursday, May 7, 2009. Annie had her surgery on Tuesday morning we arrived at the hospital around 6:30 am and the brought her in for surgery around 8. From start to finish the process took a little over 4 hours. They were able to accomplish what they wanted with no suprises. They reattached her two ureters to the bladder to fix the uriniary reflux, plus they attached her 3rd ureter to the bladder. Hopefully we may be able to head home this afternoon, but we will see.

Finding Joy: March 2014

Friday, March 14, 2014. Joys, Comparisons and Concerns. I love how uniquely different they are and yet how deeply connected they are to each other. I find joy in seeing them use their unique gifts. I desire for my kids to exprience success as they use their gifts. I understand how to develop athletic and academic gifts. I'm not as confident about developing Madelyn's more creative and personal side. But joy is lost when we are concerned for our children's health and things that may impede their ability t...

Saturday, May 11, 2013. Eating for Better Health. Our family has experienced some health concerns in the last few months which has led us to do some research about how to eat for better health. Our eating adventure is just getting started and will evolve as diagnosis becomes more clear and as different foods show up seasonally. Madelyn is quick to eat a variety of fruits and vegetables. Callie will eat apples, applesauce and raw carrots. Sometimes she will do a few banana bites. Outside of ma...2 Our kid...

Finding Joy: Unusual and Unexpected Request
http://jkdebruin.blogspot.com/2014/01/unusual-and-unexpected-request.html
Tuesday, January 21, 2014. Unusual and Unexpected Request. Second thing you must know about Callie is that she loathes pictures. She throws fits anytime a staged pictures is requested. She never did get her two year old pictures taken. At 3 we managed a significant enough bribe and weeks of mental preparation to acquire a nice picture. The pictures that follow are the "norm" for staged pictures. Grandkid picture, Christmas 2012. FineI'll sit, but I'm not happy about it. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Saturday, May 10, 2014. Joy in Spring Flowers. Yes, Callie managed to get the soil out by herself. All that swimming :). Madelyn was quite excited out the selection of flowers and studied each label to determine if the plant was better in the sun or the shade. Getting the soil ready for our first pot of the afternoon. I find joy in the day working together in the warm sun, arranging beauty, and teaching my girls how to nurture and care for a beautiful part of God's creation. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Sunday, August 24, 2014. Finding Joy in Growth. Our harvest season started with our raspberry bush. This is the most berries we've ever had at one time from our bush. Madelyn is our raspberry girl. She loves to pick and eat them. We are lucky she shares any with us :). I'm still working on the space management. The zinnias over took my onions and my bush beans were, well pole beans. They were and continue to be extremely productive. I could pick beans everyday. Although we did not grow these blueberries,...

Finding Joy: April 2013
http://jkdebruin.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, April 20, 2013. I wish I had field trips with Daddy every week! Daddy and I had so much fun. Monday, April 8, 2013. Easter Sunday was forecasted to be rainy and dreary. It was sunny, windy, and warm. We were grateful to share our Easter meal with some good friends and to make some new friends. What a blessing to have friends who celebrate Christ's sacrifice and resurrection as sin was defeated. Following an excellent meal, the Easter Egg hunt was a huge hit with the girls. I found an egg! Many ...

Finding Joy: What a difference a year or two makes...
http://jkdebruin.blogspot.com/2015/03/what-difference-year-or-two-makes.html
Monday, March 16, 2015. What a difference a year or two makes. Well, if there is anyone out there who reads this anymore. Blogging has been on my list of good intentions, but intentions, even good ones, don't always produce results. Finally it made the top of the list. Those days were marked by fear, anger, fatigue, physical pain, uncertainty, sadness, longing, and loneliness. Those days were dark and anxious. Those days reminded us of our utter lack of control. Saturday, September 14, 2013. MIchigan Trip- Part 2. On our second day at the beach, the boogie boards came out and the kids enjoyed riding the waves. Maddy missed the wave and Daddy gave her a fun ride instead :). Uncle Andy entertained the kids by burying feet and well.Jackson. Madelyn declined a turn to be buried. Happy to be buried to her knees. Callie and Jason had some Daddy daughter time as Callie tentatively headed out in the water. Dad and Callie peaking at Mom. Loving the feel of the waves.
