Thoughts (or the lack thereof) from around. I could chalk this up to naivete, but I'm not sure what amazes me more: that "partying" could be such a chore, or that somehow through the translation process between English and Japanese, this essentially mandatory extension of work and business, an obligation, could even be called a "party". Thoughts (or the lack thereof) from around. Caveat: I really think that these zen snippets are meant to be digested slowly. You read a quote, and then mull it over in your head. Absorbing. Read slowly. For some reason or other, I found each of them to be some golden nugget of advice. First, for those who ask, "What is zen? Outside teaching; apart from tradition. Not founded on words and letters. Pointing directly to the human mind. Seeing into one's nature and attaining Buddhahood. Tradition def'n of zen.

Thoughts (or the lack thereof) from around. Its been a while since the last update. Babys doing well - more active. Slightly larger, definitely stronger. He will support his head upright for short periods of time, especially. If hes relatively upright and doesnt have to fight gravity too much. Thoughts (or the lack thereof) from around. Hope everyone had a great New Years! The whole "New Year's" thing has definitely finished. For some reason or other, our apartment held our New Year's party on Jan 2, instead of something normal like Dec 31 or Jan 1. Rather than just feel postponed, this year, 2004 took 3 days to arrive instead of the usual 15 seconds or so (just before midnight). Was that a big deal? Cruise on in the new year everyone! Thoughts (or the lack thereof) from around. They would get me past the police to the approach and I would have to find my own way to stay at the hut near the top. Generally, people hike in, stay at the hut and wake up at 2 am to summit for the sunrise. No reason really, except that it's much closer to the summit, especially if you want to see the sunrise.
