Miz Masala: My basic grocery list
http://mizmasala.blogspot.com/2008/07/my-basic-grocery-list.html
Musings on food, nature and culture by a bona fide foodie. Tuesday, July 15, 2008. My basic grocery list. This is my basic grocery list (of course, I don't pick up all of this every time). I don't eat meat, but have been eating fish and seafood since 2000. Also, I'm fairly lactose intolerant. Although yogurt and goat’s and sheep’s cheeses seem to be fine. I love co-ops, farmers’ markets, gourmet markets, and delis. I visit the Environmental Defense Fund Seafood Selector. The Marine Stewardship Council.
Miz Masala: Yams with Mustard Greens
http://mizmasala.blogspot.com/2009/12/yams-with-mustard-greens.html
Musings on food, nature and culture by a bona fide foodie. Wednesday, December 2, 2009. Yams with Mustard Greens. This dish has a great range of flavors - sweetness from the yams, kickiness from the mustard greens and red chilli powder, and an aromatic brightness from the ginger. It's also very good for you! 4 yams (sweet potatoes with golden flesh) (I used 8 long and skinny ones that I picked up from the Union Square Greenmarket) , peeled and cut into half-moons, 1/4" thick. About 2 tbsp olive oil.

Miz Masala: Warm Brussels sprouts by way of Beirut
http://mizmasala.blogspot.com/2011/11/warm-brussels-sprouts-by-way-of-beirut.html
Musings on food, nature and culture by a bona fide foodie. Friday, November 25, 2011. Warm Brussels sprouts by way of Beirut. I've been refining this since last year. This year, I caramelized the Brussels sprouts in a hot wok, with olive oil, salt, and crushed red chilli pepper, then tossed them with halved green grapes, yogurt, and za'atar, and drizzled the whole thing with balsamic syrup and a few pomegranate seeds for garnish. I served this warm right after I made it. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
Miz Masala: Making Yogurt at Home
http://mizmasala.blogspot.com/2008/09/making-yogurt-at-home.html
Musings on food, nature and culture by a bona fide foodie. Tuesday, September 16, 2008. Making Yogurt at Home. I just got one to do a post on how to make yogurt at home, which reminded me that someone else had previously asked about making paneer. Which leads into the question of what to do with whey after you've separated the milk solids from it to make cheese (paneer). So, one at a time, in this mini-series on homemade dairy products : ). This does two things: 1) kills whatever else might be in the mil...

304 W4th (at Bank). This might be one of the most quaint used bookstores in NY. It’s tiny and in the middle of the West Village with books stacked on top of each other. Very close to Magnolia in case you’re in the mood for a cupcake with your book. 78 5th Ave (btw. 13th and 14th). This is what might be described as a “new age” bookstore with lots of crystals and books about healing, mysticism and angels. Whether or not you are in the market for this type of literature (nonfiction? St Mark’s Bookshop.

At my local bookstore I had the urge to dive back into the Oates library. Having said all that, I don’t think. In any event, the last thing I would like of this review is to discourage readers from Oates’ excellent works. I highly recommend the following of her novels which I have read:.

Thursday, July 24, 2014. I just love the Wetlands stamp set. There are so many ways to use each of the stamps in the set.
