Almost there with the Goat (Pussy) Willow print. August 15, 2015. Had a bit of a hiatus from printing lately, too many other things on…rescuing chickens being just one of them! Echinacea Flower, work in progress. September 3, 2016. I’m doing another in my series of ‘botanical’ prints, this one is an Echinacea flower. They really do have such a lovely shape and are like huge, coloured in daisies. Here’s the progress so far:. And this is the state of the flower block (looks like the dog has chewed it, as usual)…which I shall now cut out the dotty flower head to do two or three layers on the petals. Three more Winter scenes. October 16, 2016. Been busy busy busy getting ready for my previous fair at York Art Markets (which was great! So apologies for not posting for a while. Next up is Leeds Print Fair. At the beginning of November in the Corn Exchange. Then, four more fairs in the lead up to Christmas! I’m going to offset this image onto the other blocks first then cut out the flower buds on this one as they don’t want to be dark. November 7, 2015. While working on three other new prints I am also doing two of my chickens. I’m hoping to get a feel of a woodcut with these, with just a black key block, the white of the paper and a reddish brown mid tone – kind of a chiaroscuro. Don’t know if anyone has seen the film The World According to Garp, with Robin Williams? There is a scene where him and his wife go to ‘look at the kids’ when they are sleeping.
