Jennifer's 2 cents: Turkey
http://jennifergupta.blogspot.com/2013/11/turkey.html
Thursday, 28 November 2013. For years I've always done the Good Eats Roast Turkey from the food network. Http:/ www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/good-eats-roast-turkey-recipe/index.html. It has never done me wrong! However, this year, I had to make some changes. I substituted the brown sugar in the recipe for granulated maple syrup. I also omitted the candied ginger altogether. I always make my gravy from the pan drippings and corn starch (in my handy dandy Thermomix! View my complete profile.

Jennifer's 2 cents: August 2012
http://jennifergupta.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Friday, 31 August 2012. Both of my kids like to read. Buying new books, or even downloading them onto the kindle all the time isn't financially practical. However, a trip the library weekly, or bi-weekly is! My kids like to max out the amount of books they are allowed to checkout at one time, so they each come home with 12 most visits. I needed a way for them to keep track of their books and their library cards. Wednesday, 29 August 2012. Years ago, when COZI. I was easily able to sync up my google calen...

Jennifer's 2 cents: Christmas Experiences
http://jennifergupta.blogspot.com/2013/12/christmas-experiences.html
Saturday, 14 December 2013. I was inspired by a post I saw on Facebook about giving your kids experiences instead of presents. The idea being that our kids don't NEED anything, and they barely even WANT anything. We are the type of family that kids have everything they could want and more than they NEED. What to get them at Christmas then? It's all fine and good to say we are going to scale back and buy them less, but the practicality of it hasn't happened yet. How to break that cycle? On Christmas morni...

Jennifer's 2 cents: September 2012
http://jennifergupta.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 26 September 2012. Wanting to dress up some ordinary corkboards? Here are mine. They are going behind my kitchen door on the wall. I know, why would anyone do this beautiful thing and then put it BEHIND a door? Tuesday, 25 September 2012. My kids have recently discovered Harry Potter. They run around screaming out spells and incantations and picking up anything that remotely resembles a wand to do it with. ( feather duster anyone? So when I saw this adorable wand tutorial on pinterest. Here's ...

Jennifer's 2 cents: July 2012
http://jennifergupta.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Friday, 27 July 2012. Magnetic personal paper dolls. So, I've wanted to make some magnetic personalized paper dolls for the kids for a while now. Little lady does this entire whiteboard village that she makes on our large magnetic whiteboard, and we keep having to draw ourselves in on it. I thought. How awesome would it be if I made paper dolls with our faces on it and we could use that? So, I started looking for ideas in my usual place. Pinterest. The beginnings of the dry-wipe and magnetic people house!

Jennifer's 2 cents: Stuffing (or dressing)
http://jennifergupta.blogspot.com/2013/11/stuffing-or-dressing.html
Thursday, 28 November 2013. Stuffing is a staple Thanksgiving side dish in my house. Everyone takes a scoop. Here's how I've made mine this year. I left out my staple bread (see earlier blog posting) for a few hours on the counter. In a small pan, I have sautéed tiny diced onions, green peppers and celery in olive oil. When the bread was dry, I cut it into cubes. Next, I mixed the bread cubes with the soft veggies. Once it was mixed nicely, I added in salt and pepper. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Jennifer's 2 cents: January 2014

Sunday, 12 January 2014. I've died and gone to Allergy Heaven! It is hard to find prepared foods that fit our dietary restrictions. Gluten free, Yeast free, nut free, coconut free, and sugar free? The other day I was in the store (Nutrition Smart), and I came across a bread mix. Always ready to try something new, I bought a sample pack. We love Brazilian Pao bread. It's made with tapioca flour and cheese, and it's delicious. Guess what Chebe is derived from? Http:/ www.chebe.com/Home.aspx.

Jennifer's 2 cents: June 2014
http://jennifergupta.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, 14 June 2014. When we bought our house, it was all the same color. White. White walls, white floors, white ceilings. No color, no character. We had no left over paint samples, so we couldn't even get a color match for touchups when we needed them (without cutting a hole in the wall). In the back of the book, i attached a button envelope (attached with 3m velcro pieces) so that it could be removed if needed. Inside, I put in all of the store receipts for our project.
