Weather along the Amalfi Coast is wonderful year round. August tends to be one of its warmest months (86 degrees Fahrenheit), but rarely uncomfortable. Because it is along the coast, the temperature tends to drop slightly at night (65 degrees Fahrenheit), but during the day it is the perfect temperature to visit the beaches and swim in the Mediterranean. If you don't have one, I do know that you have to fill out an application Form DS-11 but DO NOT SIGN. Until you are instructed to do so at the Acceptance Facility. Go to the Post Office and bring the Application DS-11, a certified birth certificate, a photo ID, 2 recent 2x2 in. color portrait photographs, and cash or credit card (fees are about $100).
